Odyssey Famly Counseling Center has a single, focused mission: to provide quality mental health services to help young children, teens, adults, and families who are struggling with behavioral health challenges. With over 40 years of continuous service, we are one of the oldest nonprofits in Atlanta. Poverty is high in Odyssey's service area and the link between poverty and mental illness is significant.
Our mission: Odyssey empowers families and individuals, regardless of income, to improve their lives by offering quality trauma and prevention-focused mental health, relationship, and substance abuse counseling in the community.
Odyssey has always been rooted in the Metro-Atlanta community with the objective of providing ‘community wide mental health.’ We have maintained our vision to provide treatment to the underprivileged of metro-Atlanta: over 90 percent of our clients live at or below the federal poverty level and 89 percent are from minority populations.
Our main facility in College Park was funded by a successful capital campaign. Odyssey partners with area nonprofits to provide counseling and services to special population groups, and our School-Based Mental Health Program offers counseling on-site at nearly 30 area K-12 schools and preschools.
