Odyssey Family Counseling Center was founded in 1973, and for over 40 years has provided affordable mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, and prevention and education services. Odyssey serves all ages, incomes, and cultures with a special focus on families.
Our mission: Odyssey empowers families and individuals, regardless of income, to improve their lives by offering quality trauma and prevention-focused mental health, relationship, and substance abuse counseling in the community.
Odyssey has always been rooted in the Atlanta community with the objective of providing ‘community wide mental health.’ We have maintained our vision to provide treatment to the underprivileged of metro-Atlanta: over 85 percent of our clients live at or below the federal poverty level and 75 percent are from minority populations.
Our main facility in College Park was funded by a successful capital campaign and the generosity of the Atlanta community.
Odyssey also partners with area nonprofits to provide counseling and services to special population groups, and our School-Based Mental Health Program offers counseling on-site at area K-12 schools and preschools.
