About NeighborWorks Columbus
NeighborWorks Columbus mission is to provide access to fit and affordabe housing for all citizens of low to moderate income. Our vision and deep commitment remains to improve quality of life through the elimination of substandard housing and the revitalization of target neighborhoods.
In 2008, NeighborWorks Columbus, the Columbus Consolidated Goverment and local community leaders sought to eliminate substandard housing for impoverished elderly citizens in Muscogee County through the creation of the Columbus Cottage Program (CCP).
Working with government officials and the community to identify the first recipient, we quickly became aware of the overwhelming number of senior homeowners in Columbus living in squalor. That effort served as the springboard for NeighborWorks to administer the CCP - to ensure and preserve the homes of senior citizens in Muscogee County.
