The early years, especially the first three years of life are very important for building the baby’s brain. Everything he or she sees, touches, tastes, smell or hears helps to shape the brain for thinking, feeding, moving and learning. All children need positive early learning experiences to foster their intellectual, social and emotional development and lay the foundation for later school success. Children living in high-risk environments need additional supports to promote their healthy growth and development
Early Intervention programs, such as Easter Seals North Georgia’s Babies Can’t Wait Program minimize and in some cases prevent delays in development. These services can decrease the need for special education when a child enters school and increase a child’s independence.
