“Your life and mine should be valued not by what we take…but by what we give,” Easter Seals’ Founder Edgar Allen.
Easter Seals North Georgia is always ready to provide expert help, hope and answers for individuals with disabilities and their families. It’s who we are, and what we have been doing for over 50 years in North Georgia. Each year, with our assistance, nearly 4,000 individuals of all abilities are able to live, learn, work and play in our communities. We could just tell you about our great programs, but we thought those affected said it best.
Early Childhood Education:
"I am amazed at her thrist for knowledge and her will to accomplish milestones that at one point in her life seemed insurmountable. I attribute her success to Easter Seals." - ESNG Parent
Currently, we provide comprehensive early childhood education to 1,651 children and their families, ages six weeks to five years. More than 95% of the children served through this program are living in poverty.
"Grandpa Rivers is such an inspiration to all the children. He is always smiling, playing and helping the children become their best selves. With his guidance, we know the children will start school with the tools they'll need not just to learn, but to succeed." - Center Manager
Over 100 Foster Grandparent volunteers spend 15 hours each week with children in Head Start programs and day care centers where they provide one-on-one support.
"Without the therapies I would be lost. People always say that if you catch it early, therapy does wonders. We are a prime example of that because as soon as we saw the signs of autism we contact Easter Seals. I have watched her develop at a faster pace than before. I know she will live a fulfilled life because of the the things she's learned." - ESNG Parent
ESNG also provides early intervention services to 1,787 families with children - newborn to three years old – who require occupational, speech, physical therapy as well as Autism specific therapies.
"My son is now thriving since Champions for Children has opened the door for him to attend therapies that our family would otherwise not be able to afford." - ESNG Parent.
Nearly 200 families in North Georgia are helped by the Champions for Children program. This program was designed for middle class families who have a medically fragile child that requires extensive medical treatments.
These programs and services benefit the whole child, the whole family and OUR whole community. Your contribution provides families with community resources that allow them to achieve self-sufficiency.
