According to recent statistics, approximately 20%

Hunger obviously impacts nutrition and physical health, but its effects go beyond these visible symptoms.
Children impacted by hunger experience unique challenges in development and are at a higher risk for chronic health conditions (such as anemia and asthma) and behavioral issues (hyperactivity, mood swings and aggression).
Organizations all across Georgia work to help those with food insecurity - helping those in need find the basic resources they need. Eight regional food banks serve the 159 counties in Georgia, offering programs for emergencies, soup kitchens, shelters, residences, day care centers, senior centers, rehabilitation center, youth programs and more.
So please, donate on this page and join us as we support food banks and the thousands of programs and organizations that address hunger across the state.
Your donation will go towards fighting hunger in our state by helping fund these programs and the food banks that serve them.
Gifts to this category will be distributed to an organization, or organizations, fighting hunger and registered on GA Gives Day, unless specified otherwise in the donor’s comment section.
