FRIENDS contributes to reduce the senior meals waiting list and purchases building materials so that skilled volunteers can make critical home repairs for Gwinnett seniors. FRIENDS also provides the local cost share funding for the highly-successful Get In Gear medical transportation program for disabled adults and seniors. FRIENDS also provides funds for emergency assistance ranging from temporary shelter and food for homeless seniors to one-time utility bill help or prescription medication purchase. FRIENDS has managed to disburse more than $511,000 in the past three years to address critical funding priorities for Gwinnett County seniors, including an in-home foot care program that has provides more than 350 home visits annually..
