JOIN US IN THE FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY BY PREVENTING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE
Poverty has been identified as our community's number one social issue. Poverty leads to many other problems such as homelessness, hunger, and crime. It has been proven that the number one cause of poverty is lack of a high school education.
SCOUTS GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL AT A RATE OF 91%
A national study has shown that men who were in Scouting for five years or longer graduated high school at a rate of 91%, regardless of social or economic background.
LOCALLY SCOUTS OUT PERFORM NON-SCOUTS ON THE CRCT
A leading indicator to a student's ability to graduate on-time is his performance on the CRCT, a state standardized test to measure if students are peforming at the required level. We conducted a study with Muscogee County Public Schools to evaluate how boys in Scouting compared to those boys who are not in Scouting. In every subject in every school boys who are in Scouting outperformed non-Scouts.
