Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) has served youth in Atlanta for over 75 years. Our kids come to us from circumstances that aren't necessarily ideal. We see lots of kids from single-parent homes. Are you a single parent, or do you know one? We bet so. Our parents work hard to provide basic necessities for their families, but are often without the time or energy to devote to really developing the soft skills kids need in order to become thriving adults.
Meet some of our kids by watching this video...
That's where Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta steps in (thanks to donors like you) to fill the gap. Through our after-school and summer programs, we have positively influenced hundreds of thousands of young lives, preparing kids and teens for great futures. We provide opportunity to the kids who need us most, helping them to live healthy lifestyles, achieve academically and give back. By helping youth discover and develop their potential, we are also strengthening communities in and around our city, making them safer, healthier and more productive places to live and work.
Here is an example of one youth whose life has been shaped and changed by BGCMA. Your gift helps to nurture these kinds of kids!
Meet Devon Driscoll-Ross
Devon and his family have been through a lot over the last two years. Through all of his adversities, Devon has managed to not only maintain composure, but to lead through it. He serves as a mentor for the younger kids in his Club in addition to serving as the president for the leadership and community service club, the Keystone Club.
But do you know what really makes Devon stand out? It's a story his mom told the staff at his Club. Last summer, Devon’s mom recalls taking him to Kroger to cash his first check from his job at Six Flags, “I was wondering what was taking him so long. As I was approaching the store, Devon comes out with a cart full of groceries.”
Devon wants to go on to get a Ph.D. in Pyschology from Clark Atlanta University. And thanks to donors like you, we will help him get there. Even if he changes his mind and finds a more common job, we know he'll be ok because he has good character, drive, and a desire to be better. Our staff aims to foster that in every child that walks through our doors, because they need it. And to do that, we need you. Become part of his story and the story of GREAT FUTURES to come – give today.
