Atlanta Habitat for Humanity transforms communities by acting as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization through education, innovative development, partnerships, and long term relationships with families.

Since 1983, Atlanta Habitat has served qualified, working families, building primarily in the city of Atlanta and south Fulton County. We have built and renovated more than 1,400 homes, housing over 5,500 family members. Homes are constructed using green building standards, producing energy-efficient homes that protect the environment and reduce utility bills.

Our families are first-time homebuyers who meet stringent requirements regarding steady income, good credit and no bankruptcies for the past four years. They invest 250 hours of sweat-equity helping to build their own home and other homes, or working in our warehouse, office or ReStore. Families are required to take at least 12 education classes focused on financial literacy and home maintenance. Qualified families pay for their homes through 30-year, no interest loans managed by Atlanta Habitat. Our families have a 96% success rate.

This year, we received our eighth consecutive four-star rating by Charity Navigator, an affirmation of our intense focus on fiscal responsibility and transparancy as we work to serve more parents, grandparents, guardians, and most importantly – children.
