Atlanta Victim Assistance, Incorporated (AVA) advocates for the fundamental rights of victims and witnesses of crime with compassion, dignity and respect. AVA provides free, confidential, comprehensive services which removes barriers, strengthens victims and their families, and fosters a healthy transition from victim to survivor.

AVA offers support to victims of the following crimes as they restore the pieces of their lives:

Domestic Violence - Our Domestic Violence component’s key focus is to provide services to primary and secondary victims of domestic violence. We work closely with Domestic Violence resources across the state to ensure that any victims we serve can access the services they need.

Child Abuse - Perhaps no crime is sadder than the crime of child abuse. Child abuse is defined as any act of omission or commission that endangers the physical or emotional welfare of a child. We help families seek protection.

Homicide - Imagine the devastation of having a loved one murdered. What can you do? How do you cope? What about services to the surviving family members? We work with families on seeking financial and emotional assistance.

Identity Theft - Every day, innocent people become victims or identity theft. AVA has launched the STOP Atlanta Fraud Empower (SAFE) Campaign to help reduce the instances of fraud in the City of Atlanta and to make residents aware of their rights in the event of identify theft.

How We Serve. . .

Our unique approach to serving victims places us where we are needed most. AVA stands strong for victims at the scene of the crime, stands up for victims during appearances in court, and stands firm for victims as they continue to work towards healing. We advocate for the fundamental rights of victims and witnesses of crime from the moment the police report is filed until the day they can declare themselves a survivor.

AVA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and could not operate without grants and the generous support and contributions of both private and corporate sponsors. We thank you for your support.
