A Unique Approach
Since 2006, ArtsNow
has served more than 160 schools in 22 Georgia School Systems. We have directly impacted the professional learning of nearly 10,000 educators through our Foundational and on-site follow-up trainings, resulting in a potential influence of the teaching of more than 114,000 students. ArtsNow
was cited as a “resourceful and innovative approach to arts learning” by Governor Nathan Deal’s Arts Learning Task Force (Georgia Council for the Arts, August of 2015). We continue to add more schools and teachers each year to the ArtsNow
With our collaborating partners, CEISMC at Georgia Tech, SCAD Atlanta, Music-in-Education National Consortium, Atlanta Ballet, Synchronicity Theatre and DreamBox Theatre
, we deliver best-in-class professional development, based on extensive research. We train teachers to use arts integration across the curriculum to prepare students for 21st
century workforce roles.
s Professional Development is unique: it is custom-designed to meet the specific teaching and learning needs of each school we serve.
A Call for Action
In 2013, an estimated one million students failed to graduate from high school in the United States, equating to a loss of 5,500 students for every day on the academic calendar. Georgia ranks 6.7 percentage points below the national average for graduation. This is a clear call for action to support best practices in teacher effectiveness that yield increased student learning.
Schools that receive professional development training through ArtsNow
see increased teacher efficacy and expanded classroom best practices that to allow students to excel academically, socially and artistically. Through authentic arts integration, students demonstrate deeper engagement in subject matter, improved retention of content and authentic engagement with learning.
ArtsNow has documented results from our network schools that show:
- Improved Student Achievement
- Decreases in disciplinary issues
- Increased student attendance
All lead to increased student motivation and engagement in learning.
What Schools Have to Say
ArtsNow challenges students to think outside the box, which is imperative for academic success, preparing our students for the future. As a result of our partnership with ArtsNow, Goshen Elementary School increased our CCRPI score by 16.2 points. Our school had the greatest increase in our district. We are ranked third with our Georgia Milestones testing scores. We feel this is due to our support from ArtsNow.

Fine Arts integration as a consistent approach to teaching is the greatest instructional innovation I have experienced after 32 years in education- it works for all students of all ages and in all content areas. ArtsNow was instrumental in ‘showing us the way’ as we became a Fine Arts Academy. They are very, very good at what they do, and I would not say it if I did not mean it.
