Algie's House of Refuge was founded in 2011 by Peggy Y. Daniels, who has a strong passion to help the less fortunate.  There are thousands of people waking up with no place to call their own.  Our mission is to help homeless men get back on their feet so that they may be a leader to their families. With your help we will provide temporary housing, job placement, money management and stress management classes.

We just helped our first client get a job and he is no longer living on the street.  We filled out online job applications for him and updated his resume.  We also provided him with a Marta card so he could go to interviews and put minutes on his cell phone so he could be contacted by potential employers.  All of our efforts were rewarded and his goal is to have his own place in 30 days.  Mission accomplished.  He will also be taking money management classes so he will know how to handle his money wisely.

Also, once a month we distribute food, clothing, and personal hygiene products to the homeless.  Since July 2012 we have helped more than 50 people in need! We are also getting the word out about a children's book that one of the individuals we are helping has written titled Chores To Do.  They have not given up hope and neither will we.  You can purchase the book online at BarnesandNobles.com.

We also partnered with a high school and collected coats and blankets for the homeless.  This teaches kids the importance of giving back and getting involved.  It also teaches them to be thankful for what they have.

We are impowering people to turn their lives around and stand on their own two feet not just giving them handouts to stay in the condition they are in.

Please give today and be a part of the solution.  No amount is too small and 100% of your donation is used in the organization.  You can email me at algieshouse@yahoo.com or go to the website at www.algieshouse.webs.com.  Also follow us on Facebook at www.facebook/algieshouse.  Thank you!
