Keep Georgia Beautiful has a 35 year history of making a difference in Georgia communities. As the first-ever state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, we provide support to the largest network of local KAB affiliates in the country. Our 77 local programs represent 76% of Georgia's population.
Those affiliates count on us to provide the technical assistance, professional development and capacity building knowledge needed to help truly increase sustainability statewide.
How? Affiliates do the dirty work! One person and one community at a time:
-beautifying & greening communities
-protecting water quality
All through programs including: Bring One for the Chipper - Christmas Tree Recycling, The Great American Cleanup, Graffiti Hurts, Waste in Place Educator Workshops, America Recycles Day, Recycle Bowl, Rivers Alive and more!
In many parts of Georgia, our affiliates are the only broad-based sustainability group in their community. They are also national leaders - thanks in part to the training and assistance provided by the Foundation. The results are real - over the last 10 years we have decreased the amount of litter collected during the Great American Cleanup by 75%!
To continue that legacy of service and achievement we need your help. In 2011, KGBF began the transition from state agency program to self-sustaining nonprofit. It is an exciting time as we move the program to the next level - but it is also a challenge. Join us as we continue to deliver high quality assistance that creates positive change for Georgia.
