Name:                         The Columbus Baptist Association / Mission Columbus

Mission Statement:      Resourcing a Network of Churches Fulfilling Acts 1:8

Vision Statement:       “It is the vision of The CBA to develop a strong and vital network of churches providing avenues and resources for missions and training to assist the church in fulfilling their God given vision.”

In fulfilling Acts 1:8 one of our strategies is to impact the Greater Columbus area, our Jerusalem, through "MISSION COLUMBUS",
                                                     "Meeting Needs/Making Disciples"

Resource Center at Mission Columbus is to reach out to the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the citizens of the Greater Columbus Area.  This is a ministry of the Columbus Baptist Association (CBA).

Services Offered:

The First Division of services will be found in the Hillcrest Ministry Resource Center.
  • Discovery counseling with each client to find their specific needs
  • Food distribution center
  • Clothing for all ages
  • Small household items, i.e. irons, ironing boards, sheets, pillows, pots and pans, dishes, fans, heaters, blankets, etc.
  • Assistance with utility bills, bus passes, and gas vouchers.

The Second Division of services will be located in the Life Development Center.  This area consists of five large classrooms that will be used for training. These continuing education courses will bring a new quality of life to our guests as they develop life skills.  The proposed training will be in the following areas:

  •  GED classes
  •  Literacy
  •  English as a Second Language
  •  Computer Skills offered in the up to date Computer Lab
  •  Christian Women's Job Corp (welfare to work)
  •  We are always on the lookout for volunteer leaders to help with Family Budget and Financial Planning, AA, parenting Skills, etc.

The Third Division of services are the many things that are done outside the walls of our ministry center in the neighborhoods in our city.
  • Kits for Kids where we give out as many as 2300 new book bags to children.  These bags are filled with all types of new school items.  During these events we have offered finger printing, dental screening, sight and vision testing, as well as many other items of need that would benefit the children we serve.
  • We host back yard Bible Clubs in various sections of our city.
  • Thanksgiving baskets are given to about 150 families a year.
  • We house about six homeless men with felony records in a program where they are assisted in finding jobs, having daily accountability, Bible studies, prayers, and encouragement.   The length of stay is for three to six months at no charge.
Any support for these projects and ministries will be greatly appreciated by those who are seeking to enhance their quality of life.
